The Best Pizza on Cape Cod
There are primarily two types of pizza - the authentic type that was born in Naples, Italy and the "Americanized" pizza created here, in America, by Italian immigrants that took on a life of it's own. That's not to say American pizza isn't delicious - it's just different - it's not authentic Italian pizza. |

A Brief History of Pizza (nothing too intense)
New York, Chicago and San Francisco each claim to have created the first American-style pizza but in actuality, the first pizzeria in America was started by Gennaro Lombardi in Manhattan's Little Italy in 1905. And the first true pizzeria in Italy is Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba which opened in 1830 and is still there today!

Evryone has a favorite pizza parlor
And I'm not saying yours isn't fabulous - but if you've ever been to Italy and want a pizza that'll remind you of being back there, at least let me point you in the right direction.
So where can you get a good Italian pizza?
Actually, the choice is pretty simple since there're only a few on the Cape and, granted they're not perfect, but if you want to approach that "close-to-Italy" flavor, texture and experience I highly recommend Sweet Tomatoes at 791 Main Street in Osterville; Spiritus at 190 Commercial Street in Provincetown, and Paglio Pizzeria at 435 Main Street in Hyannis.
